What is a fire risk assessment ?
UK law requires all businesses and non-domestic buildings to carry out a fire risk assessment, to ensure the safety of people in or around the building, under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (commonly known simply as the Fire Safety Order).
It is the responsibility of a designated ‘responsible person’ or ‘duty holder’ to ensure a risk assessment has been completed.
A fire risk assessment ensures the building is suitable and sufficiently safe, and the lives of any people in or around the building are protected.
