Entry Level Passive Fire Engineer

What you need to know about the role
As a Passive Fire Protection Engineer working at AWB and Son Ltd you will be working in the Operations team delivering our key products and services in the form of passive fire protection. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the business and assist with fire compartmentation surveys and remedials, fire damper inspections and remedials, large project installs, fire door inspections and remedials and fire curtain works. This list is not exhaustive and our product offering is expected to expand over time.
Your role will see you work at a variety of customer sites across the country including construction sites, hospitals, retail units, manufacturing facilities and housing. This position will require someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This position will also require an individual who can work with a wide variety of people and have excellent problem-solving skills.
There will be progression and development opportunities for the right individual. A tailored training pathway will be provided.
What we need to know about you
You will be required to work with a number of different fire stopping products, previous experienced working with harmful chemicals or hazardous material would be beneficial but not essential.
Versatility and a willingness to learn is crucial.
This person will need a strong work ethic and value being part of a close team.
Qualifications and Experience
• Qualifications or experience in a related field would be beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

Experienced – Fire Stopping Engineer

What you need to know about the role
As an Experienced Fire Stopping Engineer working at AWB and Son Ltd you will be leading your own team to deliver our key passive fire products and services in the form of fire stopping. You will be working in the Operations team reporting to the Engineering Manager of the business and assist with fire compartmentation remedials using batt, mastic and fire curtains. You may also be required to assist in some fire compartmentation surveys and remedials, fire damper inspections and remedials and large project installs. This list is not exhaustive and our product offering is expected to expand over time.
Your role will see you work at a variety of customer sites across the country including construction sites, hospitals, retail units, manufacturing facilities and housing. This position will require someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. This position will also require an individual who can project manage, have good leadership skills and be able to converse well with clients.

You will be confident working with a variety of fire stopping materials and products.
This person will be able to lead and train other engineers with less experience.
Versatility and a willingness to learn is crucial.

Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 5 years experience..
• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Passive Fire Protection
• CSCS and SSSTS qualifications.
• Previous use of Boris software or similar would be an advantage

Fire Door Inspector/Installer

What you need to know about the role
As a Fire Door Installer/Inspector working at AWB and Son Ltd you will be leading your own team to inspect fire doors, identifying any issues or non-compliance, and installing fire doors to meet safety standards. You will collaborate with our team to ensure the proper maintenance and installation of fire doors, helping to protect lives and property. You will be working in the Operations team reporting to the Engineering Manager of the business. In addition to fire door work you maybe asked to assist with fire compartmentation remedials using batt, mastic and fire curtains. You may also be required to assist in some fire compartmentation surveys and remedials, fire damper inspections and remedials and large project installs. This list is not exhaustive and our product offering is expected to expand over time.

What we need to know about you
You will have joinery experience and qualifications, specifically door casing and door hanging.
Experience working with a variety of fire stopping materials and products would be an advantage.
Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards would be an advantage.
This person will be able to lead and train other engineers with less experience.
Versatility and a willingness to learn is crucial.
This person will need a strong work ethic and value being part of a close team
Qualifications and Experience
• Previous experience in fire door inspection and installation.
• Willing to work towards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Passive Fire Protection
• Willing to work towards CSCS qualifications.
• Previous use of Boris software or similar would be an advantage
• Valid driver’s license
